PCNM is a full-service pathology laboratory offering four primary areas of diagnostic services and a dedicated courier system.
- Surgical Pathology
In addition to routine histopathology, PCNM is able to perform, in-house, a variety of special and immunohistochemical stains, thus providing quick turnaround time even for more complex cases. Esoteric testing is referred to our reference labs partners whom we have chosen for both the reliability of their testing and commitment to expeditious turnaround time. This allows more complete clinical decision making. - Cytopathology
The Cytology Department examines the full range of both gynecologic and nongynecologic specimens. We also provide FNA biopsy services at our FNA clinic. A dedication to women’s health is evidenced by the use Thin Prep Pap test platform with Imaging Directed Cytology. This provides a more accurate Pap test than the traditional Pap smear. Use of the ThinPrep specimen collection media allows a number of ancillary tests that can be performed from just one specimen. - Molecular Lab
We provide in-house testing for Neisseria gonorrhea (NG) and Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), vaginosis-related organisms, and human papillomavirus (HPV). By offering these tests in house, cytology and molecular results can be integrated into a single report, delivering a more inclusive report for each patient, as well as improved turnaround time. All of our women’s health-related tests are FDA approved. - Clinical Lab Consulting
PCNM pathologists are also boarded in clinical pathology. They provide consultation and management services and medical directorship for hospitals, clinical labs, and medical clinics throughout New Mexico. - Dedicated Courier System
PCNM maintains a statewide courier system to transport specimens to our facility. Scheduled routine, on-call, and “stat” pickups are available. - Medical Directorship
