Pathologists
PCNM’s pathologists are board-certified by the American Board of Pathology. Our team provides general pathology expertise and specialization in hematopathology, cytopathology, and dermatopathology. In addition to providing services at PCNM, each pathologist also provides laboratory directorship services for a number of clinical labs.
George A. Atkinson, MD, FCAP
Dr. Atkinson, PCNM’s Laboratory Director, has been with PCNM since 1997. He is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. After graduating from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, he completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency and a Surgical Pathology fellowship at Parkland Memorial Hospital / University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He is licensed to practice medicine in New Mexico and Texas. Dr. Atkinson is a General Pathologist with a special interest in Dermatopathology.
Sanjay Lahiri, MD, FCAP
Dr. Lahiri joined PCNM in 2006. Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology, he graduated from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata, India, worked as Consultant Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist at Wellesley Medicentre, a private practice lab in Kolkata, and was visiting pathologist at The Cancer Center Welfare Home and Research Institute, performing and interpreting Fine needle Aspiration Cytology.
After moving to the US, he completed Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency and Hematopathology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Albuquerque, and Surgical Pathology fellowship at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.
Dr. Lahiri is a Preceptor for the Department of Pathology, University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and is licensed in New Mexico, California, Texas, and India.
Andy Lim, MD, FCAP
Dr. Lim joined PCNM in July of 2017. He graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in 2010. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, a Surgical Pathology fellowship from Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia, and a fellowship in Hematopathology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He is licensed in New Mexico, Texas, and Pennsylvania. His hobbies include traveling, digital photography, and making espresso.
Julum Nwanze, MD, FCAP
Dr. Nwanze joined PCNM in 2023. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He graduated from University of Ghana Medical School in Korle-Bu, Ghana. He completed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He has completed a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Texas in Galvaston, TX and a Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
